Archaeology and Cultural Heritage

An assessment of known archaeological sites and cultural heritage assets within 5km of the Proposed Development was undertaken. There are no known sites within the development boundary reducing the risk of direct physical impact.

Using professional judgement and the Zone of Theoretical Visibility (ZTV), five cultural heritage sites were scoped into the study. This included 2 scheduled monuments (SM1 and SM2) and two listed buildings (LB2 (C-listed), LB14 (B-listed)). The methodology for selecting and assessing the impact on each site is explained in the Heritage Impact report, however, it is likely that no regionally or nationally important site with theoretical visibility of the development would encounter a significant change of their setting or cultural value as a result of the Proposed Development as the area is already characterised by renewable energy and industrial buildings.
