The Site

The site of the Proposed Development is situated approximately 2.8km east of Strichen and 2.1km northwest of New Leeds.

The site is agricultural land adjacent to the Buchan and Formartine Way, which varies in elevation between 88m-90m. The site is currently used as long term grass ley. A review of land capability for agriculture mapping shows a classification of 3.2 - land capable of average production.

The site has a number of attributes that contribute towards it being a suitable site for a battery energy storage system:
