Pre- Application Consultation

Two Pre-Application Consultation events have taken place for this development. They were at Ritchie Hall, Strichen, on Wednesday 21st August 2024 10am-7pm and Wednesday 18th September 2024 8am-4pm.

All feedback collected during the consultation process will now be collated and reviewed. Any points that are raised will be addressed where possible and any subsequent changes to the proposal will be highlighted in the planning application. This will all be included in the Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) report, submitted with other application documents.

Construction and Installation

Site works will include the upgrade of the existing access track and site entrance, laying of underground cables, and the construction of a substation, control building and a temporary site compound.

All battery units will sit on raised concrete base points which will be installed ahead of final battery component delivery and installation. The Power Conversion Units will also be located on hardstandings.

On commissioning of the BESS, the majority of the site will then be restored to allow regeneration of the environment to allow the continued use of the field area available around the site. The access point and track will be retained to allow maintenance activities to be undertaken throughout the operational lifetime of the development.

In order to ensure the safety of members of the public, the site will have some access restrictions during the construction and operational period.
